I'm in a difficult place in my life and I'm finding that I don't have the time to properly finish commissions in a reasonable time. So, I'm no longer accepting commissions for at least 18-24 months.
There are a few reasons for this, but mainly this is because of two reasons.
My children are getting to that wonderful age where they are intelligent little bastards who get into trouble when not lightly supervised. Because they are getting smarter, it also means they are driving Fluffy up the wall and she's not capable of handling them for long hours (e.g., all day and part of the night).
The other is because my new boss at work has ratcheted up the pressure because they'd rather do everything as emergency fixes and patches instead of spending the time (or getting more employees) and fixing it in a more relaxed. That means I've spent the last few months working way too many hours.
Since I need “alone time” to write, it isn't happening anymore. This is also causing me stress because I feel guilty for not finishing them along with Patreon
I currently have four commissions on my queue. This includes Puppy Mill 2 and three private ones (two will be shared when they are finished).
I am not dropping Patreon. That will continue and I will keep with my goal of 8-10k words a month. (I always aim for 10k.)
Commissions may start up again, but I just have too much going. From today's work announcements, I suspect it's going to be 18-24 months before I can even consider it.
